You are installing an Intel Broadwell-E Core i7-6800K, 6-Core/12-Thread CPU that supports Quad Channel DDR4 Memory.
The K moniker signifies that this CPU is unlocked and can be Turbo boosted to operate beyond its rated 3.4GHz clock speed.
Make sure you are wearing your Anti-Statice Wrist Strap before handing the CPU.
This is designed to fit an Intel LGA-2011 CPU Socket that can accommodate 2011 pins.
Orient the Motherboard as shown below.
The CPU cover on the Motherboard is held in place by 2 spring loaded levers.
Make a note of the Left Lever. You need to unhook this first!
Make a note of the Right Lever.
Place the Motherboard on top of the Motherboard box for adequate support.
Push down to unhook the Left Lever.
Next, push down to unhook the Right Lever
With both the Left and Right Levers released, lift up the CPU Socket Cover.
You can now clearly see the Intel LGA2011-V3 CPU Socket.
It can accept 2011 pins, thus the name.
Make a note of the Triangle Symbol on the upper right.
This symbol will help you correctly orient the CPU.
The CPU has one corner marked with a Golden Triangle.
Orient the CPU such that this corner with the Golden Triangle matches up to the Triangle Symbol on the CPU Socket as shown.
Gently drop the CPU into the Socket.
This is a Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) Socket.
The means the CPU will seat itself into the Socket without having to apply any force.
Pop out the black plastic CPU Socket Cover.
Save this plastic cover!
You will need to reattach this cover, if you ever need to return your Motherboard.
Lower the CPU Socket Cover.
First, hook the Right Lever.
Next, hook the Left Lever.
This completes your CPU installation.
