Tip: Air flows outwards from the labeled side of a Fan
How can you tell from which direction the air will be blowing by looking at a fan?
Every fan has two sides.
There is fixed side that usually displays the Fan Label, while the other side rotates with the fan.
If you look facing the fixed side of the fan that carries the label, the air will blow towards you when the fan is switched on.
Front fans are installed as intake fans to draw air from the outside, and blow it inside the case.
This means the front fans must be installed with the label side facing the inside of the case.
Rear Fans on the other hand, are installed as exhaust fans. They suck air from the inside of the case and blow it outwards.
This is why rear fans are installed with the fixed label side facing outside the case.
