Buffering your Selection

 
The Experience Builder UI Widget offers you the option to buffer any of your selections.
 
You are going to buffer the selected State of Nevada by 1 mile and find all the States that fall within this buffer zone.
 
Open the Selection Menu Options.
 
 
Select the default Buffer Distance that is set to 300 feet.
 
 
Expand the Distance Unit.
 
 
Set Buffer Distance = 1 mile
 
 
 
APPLY
 
Open the Menu Options for the Selected State of Nevada.
 
 
Select Buffer Graphic.
 
 
There are 6 States that fall within your Buffer zone.
 
 
The Selected States are highlighted in Cyan.
 
 
Expand the Layer Name to see a listing of the 6 selected states.
 
 
You can reapply the 1 mile buffer to any of your selections.
 
Open the Menu Options for Utah and buffer the graphic.
 
 
There are 7 States within your buffer zone.
 
 
Expand to see the List of States.
 
 
The selected States are highlighted in cyan.
 
 
The Buffer Tool can be applied to any selected point, line or polygon feature.
 
Next, you are going to use the Buffer Tool to find all Schools within 20 miles of your selected School.
 
Notice, there are 1121 Schools within the 1 mile buffer around the State of Utah.
 
 
Click on the Schools Layer to see the list of selected schools.
 
 
The selected Schools are highlighted in cyan.
 
 
These are the 1121 Schools that fall within a 1 mile buffer around the State of Utah.
 
 
Select Escalente Valley School.
 
 
The Selected School is highlighted in cyan.
 
 
Set the Buffer Distance to 20 miles.
 
 
APPLY
 
Open the Options Menu for Escalente Valley School and Buffer the Graphic.
 
 
There are 3 Schools within this 20 mile buffer zone.
 
 
Expand to see the List.
 
 
The 3 selected schools are highlighted in cyan.
 
 
You have identified all the schools located within 20 miles from Escalente Valley School.
